Deluxe Limited Edition film can version
Compact Disc (CD) + Digital Album
As well as being available digitally, this beauty will also be released in two distinct physical versions.
This first, limited edition version comes in the form of 60, re-purposed, vintage 35mm film cans. Each can has been hand modified front and back, with labels hand typed on an old typewriter, and each one then stickered, hand stamped and further manually distressed. Inside each unique receptacle is a selection of 35-40 hand rounded 5" circles/prints cut from a variety of papers, blueprints, schematics, book covers, transparencies, maps and other antique ephemera. The circles are textural, textual, and are all meant to be in keeping with the album's title of "Spaces In Between". Each can also contains a track listing circle painstakingly hand typed on a vintage typewriter, and many of the circles have also been hole punched and modified to show part of what spaces lie beneath, or between. Some of the punched out bits are included loosely in the cans as well. At the bottom of each can, and underneath its own stacked "paper film" of sorts, lies the factory pressed disc in a rounded cotton sleeve. Each can is quite weighty, and feels exactly as though there is a reel of film in it still. You'll have to work for the music this time!

Hoshiko Yamane is a classically trained violinist, and a current member of the legendary band Tangerine Dream. She's also an accomplished composer, and whether releasing and playing under her own name, or as Tukico, her unique sound often features looped strings together with Moog synths and effects.
Mikael Lind has released several albums of experimental ambiances, often drifting between either more classical Warp style electronica, or a modern classically oriented sound. Early this year, Hoshiko and Mikael decided to try to compose two tracks together, mostly out of curiosity. Thrilled by the outcome of the first two songs, they ended up finishing this entire album!
The idea behind the album title Spaces in Between is conceptual, imagining the space between Berlin and Reykjavik as Hoshiko and Mikael were sending ideas back and forth over the internet from their respective homes without having actually met in real life. They held their first (but probably not last) concert at the Extreme Chill Festival in Reykjavik this fall, and the receptions from the crowd were very positive. Musically, they both have a knack for creating mesmerizing ambient music with classical influences. With violin, viola and piano being at the forefront, and synths and sound design wrapping their themes up as a larger musical environment, they have created something extremely special here!

Hello everyone!
Time Released Sound, founded in 2011, is a lovingly hand made, limited edition
release music label that is as much an art project as it is a musical outlet. Focusing on modern classical, ambient electronic and electroacoustic sounds, we produce visuals and packaging that are as uniquely beautiful as the music itself.

Where her Tangerine Dream bandmates seemingly bring the rhythmic '76-'83 sound into the 21st Century, Hoshiko seems to be channeling the droning and gurgling sounds of "Atem" and "Zeit". This music is both achingly beautiful and inescapably immersive. simoncslator

My first time listening to Wil Bolton. Night Paths is a great ambient album, just like the rest of the Hidden Vibes "series". Highly recommended. ajatuslapsi
