    Record/Vinyl + Digital Album

TRS081 is available in two physical vinyl editions, as well as digitally. This listing is for the limited edition version of only 50 copies. Each of these packages is in the form of a re-purposed 50 year old classical music box. Each unique box has a still from the film on the cover, printed on the highest quality Moab rag natural printing paper. Each box is covered inside with vintage, distressed mirrored film, and has an attached drop down paper ocean…with a hand folded paper boat tucked in behind it. On the underside of each paper ocean is a hand printed and numbered insert. Also tucked behind the drop down is an amazingly unique, 180gm, watery translucent silver record in a black polylined sleeve. When folded open, the mirrored interior of the box perfectly reflects the elusive and transitory nature of the film, and yourself!

Each box will come in a protective, outer poly sleeve.

Includes unlimited streaming of Sumarbörn via the free Bandcamp app, plus high-quality download in MP3, FLAC and more.

about

Finally! We are extremely pleased to finally be releasing this beautiful soundtrack by Kira Kira and Hermigervill, to the recent Icelandic children’s film, Sumarbörn. These two friends have teamed up and created a delicate and ethereal ode to lost childhood, and the potential perils of living in an adult world.

“Two small children, Eydis and Kari, are put in a bus and sent from the city to the countryside to an orphanage. Their mother tells the sister to take care of her younger brother and that's what she does. But both of them are still young and being away from home is not easy - especially when the teachers are strict and order strict. The only thought that helps the siblings is that they are there temporarily - there are children who live there all year long and have no other place to go.”

The music is at times magical and mysterious, playful, and dramatic…all in tinkling tones of glockenspiel, choral references and neo-romantic classicism. The electronic over workings perfectly suit the childlike and dreamlike qualities behind the film and it’s storyline, creating a wondrous blend of reality and fantasy in sound.

TRS081 is available in two physical vinyl editions, as well as digitally. The first of the two vinyl versions comes in a limited edition version of only 50 copies. When folded open, the mirrored interior of the box perfectly reflects the elusive and transitory nature of the film!

There is also a standard vinyl version of this release in a printed jacket with the same image on the cover. It also comes with the special 180gm vinyl.
